With its warm, sunny climate, it is no wonder that Memphis has an abundance of outdoor activities. Shelby Farms is a huge, 4,500 acre park with sprawling green spaces, regular activities and a community garden. Annual festivals, like the Mid South Fair and Memphis in May, draw residents and visitors from all over the country.

Memphis is home to a flourishing art community, welcoming patrons and artists alike. East Memphis’ Dixon Gallery specializes in impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings and is located adjacent to the Memphis Botanic Garden. Autozone Park is home to the Memphis Redbirds, a Triple A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. Memphis hosts the annual Liberty Bowl, a match-up of SEC and Conference USA teams. The St. Jude Classic takes place every year at Memphis’ PGA golf course, Southwind.
